[original .flg here: http://adomserver.ath.cx/adom_users/omeg/ch_tisae.flg] Ch'tisael, the dark elven mindcrafter, started out in pretty miserable state. His stats were terrible (St was 7 or 8 with maximum of 10 for example, toughness not better), his equipment equally miserable with whole 1 PV. After talking with the lot in Terinyo (getting druid quest), he took sheriff for a walk to the small cave to generate it at low level and not kill any monsters himself. Then they went to bandit town, where an outlaw was the first kill. Ch'tisael learned pickpocketing, saw a scroll of ID in the shop, and left to the druid dungeon. He carefully explored it to the bottom, but left Keethrax alive - for now. He also managed to scout all of the puppy cave, and even clear a mixed vault at the bottom (which was not easy, but gave nice xp and items). He read one of the scrolls making an educated guess, and yes, it was a blessed scroll of ID (most common scrolls are usually ID, and this one was not stacked with others). Identifying stuff helped greatly, as no altars were found so far. Also, a pool in PC4 gave him paralysis resistance, which was great. He then proceeded to SMC, and barely survived it. Thankfully, a chaotic altar was found in UD1. He had no food though to endure precrowning, and was definitely NOT going through SMC again. Well, UD4 featured nice patches of herbs including stomafilia. First precrown got him Wyrmlance - not that useful, but well. He found a ring shop on UD5 - ring of ice was good to have. He sold stuff in HMV, but even there the prices were terrible. He didn't kill Oracle now, as it could shift his alignment to C-, which would ruin second precrown. After more herb harvesting and saccing, second precrown was done: this time Lol'th was nice and gave him the Ring of Immunity. Third precrown was possible, but he decided it would be too troublesome, and it was already day 45. He killed and ate Oracle, which gave him 6 Learning, raising it to a decent level. He tried to get the wand of teleport from assassin's guild, but couldn't locate it - no magic map, no item detection. Caverns of Chaos level 6 had loads of stable herb patterns, so Wi/Dx/To stats were fixed for good. Big room was left untouched since he didn't need to harvest there. Monster quest was large bat. Ch'tisael was still chaotic, and Dwarftown had neutral altar. This was a bit bothersome, but he had nice supply of holy water. He converted to neutral nevertheless with the idea that Gaab'Bay and ratling quests would be done much later. Minor undead vault on D11 had a nice surprise for him: some zombie dropped Executor! This definitely solved weapon problems (he didn't have any decent one so far). Animated forest was scouted with the help of invisibility cloak. He waited with ogres though, as he couldn't see invisible. Pyramid was the logical next step with AMW providing that. Ch'tisael cleared the Pyramid without much trouble, got the wand of teleport this time. He bought Light book from HMV shop for bookcasting to train mana. Trained with Yergius a bit, then killed Keethrax getting Black Torc. Black druid's corpse was exchanged for the potion of cure corruption at Terinyo. He then cleared Griffyard without trouble. Graves there gave him a ring of djinni summoning and othere nice stuff. He lacked scroll of danger still, but since he didn't need to rush with the quest, it could wait. He vanquished the ogre tribe below Dwarftown and proceeded to Darkforge. Golems were no match for him. He decided to drank from pools hoping for a wish. Indeed, a wish was granted to him, but he lost much of his nice intrinsics in the process. He wished for seven league boots and wondered if it was worth it.. (it really was, as it turned out later). Khelavaster was saved thanks to RoDS from Griffyard, Teleport book was a godsend (Ch'tisael learned a bunch of spells from recharged wand of wonder). Dwarven graveyard was cleared and dug: he met 2 lich kings and one emperor.. Lost some stats, but nothing major - there were herbs and Garth to repair it. Ch'tisael used some unsuspecting dragons to do tricks with gold doubling - I was curious if it really works, shop prices were still horrible, and he would get infinite cash from Casino anyway. It turned out to work, but it is definitely a bug: wearing girdle of greed can easily confirm that (you pick up X gold and see that you have X/2 and weird stuff like that..). Water temple was destroyed, and below it Ch'tisael found the precious scroll of danger. He went to the Temple of the High Kings, crossed the lake with wand of cold (druid reward) and killed the long dead king again. Then he went to the Rift - had some tense moments in the Library, but he prevailed. Some nice books were acquired, but in the end he really only used Teleport anyway (he got Strength of Atlas book, but didn't know the spell). He got the weird tome from Ghost librarian and left. He needed to do ToEF but had no fireproof blanket (yes, he *forgot to get rewards from Thrundarr* - the blanket was there). So Ch'tisael decided to go in without (never did that before). He drank all stat potions and PoGAs, took only fireproof stuff (no healing except Water Orb) and went in. Ring of Immunity and ring of ice protected him easily, and in the end, he cleared the place without even needing to heal. Ancient Chaos Wyrm fell to poisoned arrows of slaying, Ch'tisael dodged all his bolts (I'll say again, alertness is hax). He got lvl26 for clearing the temple. Casino had no artifacts. Minor golem vault on D32 tested Ch'tisael against eternium golem, it was easy. Cat Lord was pretty tough as always, but didn't get the chance to harm Ch'tisael, and was shot, giving some 2 millions xp and level 32. Welcome Greater Telekinetic Blast! He was still not corrupted at D37 (used 2 SoCRs earlier) - these 7LB really paid off, corruption rate before day 90 was pretty mild. Air temple was a cakewalk. Games with potions of exchange gave him bracers of resistance - very useful thing (indestructable, death resist). He also got Courage from potion of education. Somewhere around D43 Ch'tisael found a greater red dragon vault. It was pretty tough and tedious to clear, all monsters were at least very experienced. Dragons could be cut with Wyrmlance (although they hit hard without shield), and elementals were real pain. I don't know, maybe being cursed from Executor made this so hard. Artifacts were Soaker and Skullcrusher, pretty useless.. But the real reward was experience: Ch'tisael got AT LEAST 10 levels, gaining lvl 50 there. Whoa! He did Sharad-Waador quest and killed him afterwards, no interesting items from that though. Mana temple wasn't problem (bracers of resistance + alertness = win). He returned to Dwarftown. It was time to turn to the dark side again and do chaotic quests. Demented ratling was fed with some useless artifacts. Keriax was very easily shot on day 90, and he dropped Bracers of War! Gaab'Bay produced Medal of Chaos for Ch'tisael, he then visited Assassin Prince, got the Filk quest and killed him. Poor quickling bard never had a chance to react: Eyes of the mind -> teleport -> greater telekinetic blast -> profit. Mad Minstrel finally gave his scrolls of chaos resistance, and revealed location of Emperor Moloch's hideout. EM was shot (should check how GTB would fare against him). Finally Ch'tisael briefly converted to N and got the shiny Trident from Khelavaster. Now that we had everything we needed, the slaughter begun. All Terinyo denizens were butchered (yes, I forgot to get PoCCs from druid and the Unicorn quest was lost.. oh well). Ch'tisael mercilessly killed everything that moved in HMV and the bandit town. Dwarftown and the arena weren't spared and bathed in blood too. Demented ratling managed to nearly kill Ch'tisael due to carelessness, but GTB took care of him. Demented ratlings seem to have 392 hitpoints on the average. Usually they attack 16 times. A hit causes 86-159 points of damage (114 on the average). They seem to have a speed of 124-244 (140 on the average). It was the time for the final dive. Ch'tisael was finally crowned as the Champion of Chaos. Lol'th gave him the useless staff though.. stupid goddess. D50 took lot of time, but Ch'tisael needed the corruption anyway. No wishes were available, that worried him a bit. He wrote some scrolls of defense/ protection (no smithing this time, and he got enough SoCRs - at least he thought so). Ch'tisael put on the Medal and the Crown, and grasped Trident of the Red Rooster firmly in his hands. He uncursed himself, drank all boost potions and readied himself for the final challenge. You face a gate leading into the Primal Plane of Chaos itself. Swirling colors intrude upon your eyes and your mind. You easily resist the confusing sight. Unfortunately, Andor started to summon writhing masses of primal chaos and other monstrosities, and they got in the way making shooting impossible. Ch'tisael teleported few times trying to get in a good position - in vain. With only one goal in his mind, he dropped the useless bow and charged furiously at the ChAoS gOd in melee. He evaded most of the spells Andor threw at him, but he did not escape some painful draining of his very life essence. That did not stop him, however - and he finally thrusted his weapon deep into Andor's body, mortally wounding the former ChAoS gOd. The moment Andor Drakon dies huge energies are freed!
